Have no fair Jolly Jars are here!

                                              Jolly Jars

This term, our Project Based Learning (PBL) started with the teachers putting us into groups. In these groups we had to work collaboratively to create Jolly Jars for the school fair. This task helped us to begin exploring our PBL question for the term - How can we build community through our actions? We had to research ideas, be creative with our product, experiment with our materials and write instructions that could be followed by others.  The people that were in my group were Karter and Sidney.

Here is a link to my instructions. Link

I learnt that instructions need to be clear and easy for the reader to read and it has to be step by step. They also  need to make sense.

Reflection on PBL:
For our Jolly Jar my group made pet rocks for them to make themselves. How we did this was we put about 5 rocks in each jar then we put some different colored sharpie some paints and more.

I contributed to my group by helping get the things we needed and giving some ideas also helping them when they needed it.

Our Jolly Jar was creative because… everyone was doing origami so we thought ours were really original and some people will really enjoy it.

What I learned about working with others was we need to be very patient with each other and help each other out even when it may be hard.

How did we build community through our actions? Well we sold all of our jars and we made a lot of money to go to our bike track in the back field. This is for many people to enjoy together as one big community.
Questions:
Did you come to the st Francis of Assisi fair?
Do you do PBL?
Has your school ever had a fair?
